We know that when you're in the water, every detail counts to make the most of your sessions. One of those crucial details is how you secure your leash . Today we want to talk to you about the importance of tying a double knot to prevent the leash from touching the tail of the board, which could end up breaking the tail of your board. 🚫💔
Why is it important?
Basically, by tying a double knot, you prevent the leash line from having direct contact with the tail of the board. This contact can cause a force on the board when it receives a pull that can cause the fiber to break.
Apart from running the risk of breaking the tail of your board, if the conditions of the session are demanding, a poorly tied or poorly placed leash could cause it to break and come loose from your surfboard , and that is something we do not want to experience!

How to tie the double knot:
There are different ways to achieve this. Some will tell you that it is best to make the knot shorter so that the cord does not touch. In our case, we prefer to make a double knot so that it can never touch. Here is a photo of how it should look to be well secured. To make it perfect, you only have to pass the leash through each of the two rings.

Remember, small details like this make all the difference in your surfing experience. Take a minute to double knot and protect both boards. See you in the lineup!
